First Term Self-Assessment

  • What can I do that I couldn't do before?
  • What did I like most?
  • What did I do well?
  • What am I confused about?
  • What did I do in English outside the class?
  • What do I need to improve?
  • What did I learn about culture?


- I think that I have to force in general, but this year it's more difficult than last year, because we have to do a lot of thing of the different subjects.

- The activity that I like a lot it's the projects that we do, por example the video o talk about a theme or something like that, I think that improves our English because we talk with more fluency and make the lesson more pleasant too.

- I think that the work that I do well is the speaking, I think that I speak more than the last years, and I have more fluency and i have less embarrassment.

- I am confused about the result of my exams, because I study a lot and I don't have the result that I think deserved.

- I read some book in English and I see films in English and other languages 

- I think to improve i have to speak more in class and participate. And change my method of study.

- I learn about thanksgiving because I had heard about them but I didn't now the meaning until the Michael' class, new slogan about publicity too and also phonetic, the differents sounds.

VOCABULARY

Appear: to start to be seen or to be present
Broadcast:to send out a programme on television or radio
Claim: to say that something is true or is a fact, although you cannot prove it and other people might not believe it
Bargain: something on sale at a lower price than its true value
Bid: o offer a particular amount of money for something that is for sale and compete against other people to buy it, especially at a public sale of goods or property.
Purchase: to buy something
Refund: an amount of money that is given back to you, especially because you are not happy with a product or service that you have bought
Supply: to provide something that is wanted or needed, often in large quantities and over a long period of time 
Supplier: a company, person, etc. that provides things that people want or need, especially over a long period of time

HOW CAN I BE MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

1.Stop using bottled water
2.Stop smoking. Smoking creates pollution inside of your body and for the people around you.
3.Use less electricity.
4.less gas
5.Recycle.
6.Use reusable shopping bags

Unit 5- A life of crime

Vandalism the crime of intentionally damaging property belonging to other people
Pick pocketing the crime of stealing things out of people's pockets or bags, especially in a crowd
Shop lifting the illegal act of taking goodsfrom a shop without paying for them
Mugging an act of attacking someone and stealing their money
Burglary the crime of illegally entering a building and stealing things 
Smuggling the crime of taking goods or people into or out of a country illegally
Drug Dealing 
Murder  the crime of intentionally killing a person
Kidnapping an occasion when someone is kidnapped
Bank robbery
Bully someone who hurts or frightens someone who is smaller or less powerful, often forcing them to do something that they do not want to do
Abuser to use something for the wrong purpose in a way that is harmful or morally wrong
Cheating to behave in a dishonest way in order to get what you want
Curt If someone's manner or speech is curt, it is rude as a result of being very quick 
Judge a person who is in charge of a trial in a court and decides how a person who is guilty of a crime should be punished, or who makes decisions on legal matters

Is polycultures because the land is divided up into small plots and farmers.
